HISTORY

237TH GLASGOW COY. BOYS BRIGADE

237th Glasgow Coy. Boys' Brigade

In 2008 the B.B. worldwide celebrated it's 125th anniversary.

Following on from 2007 when 2 members of the 237th Glasgow Company B.B. gained the highest award in the Boys' Brigade - the Queen's Badge (Cpl Matt Thain & Cpl Scott Davidson) a further four boys completed their Queen's Badge in 2008 (Cpl Andrew Livingstone; Cpl Craig Colquhoun, Cpl Robert Cammidge & Cpl Craig Devine).

Unfortunately, due to the falling numbers and changing interests of those attending it prompted the remaining staff to re-appraise the future of youth work within our congregation. After 79 years of service to the young men of Knightswood we took the very difficult decision to disband our BB. Company.

On 14th September 2008 we held our closing Thanksgiving Service and invited ex-members of our Company to attend.

After the service, past and present members of our Company paraded for the final time before our colours were formally installed in the sanctuary.
